Day Tour of Zhou Zhuang with Lunch
Zhou
Zhuang, a small town close to the Dingshan Lake in Jiangsu province, lying 75
Km (47 miles) southwest of Shanghai, is noted for its waterways, old
houses and bridges. It is the only old town in this area that has not
been affected much by the modern civilization. There still remain within the town a total of 10 kilometers of canals and more than 40 bridges. White walls, dark-grey roof tiles, red flowers under green foliage, bridges over flowing waters: all these bespeak an air of tranquility and elegance, famed as "Venice of East". A boat ride through the waterways lined with houses will enable visitors to savour the delicate charm and grace of the town. |
